The fastest growing community of independent optometrists has closed off the first quarter of 2019 by reaching an important milestone of 70 practices.
This cements the company as a major player in the optometry industry, having attracted some of the most respected and high profile independent optometrists in the country. George & Matilda Eyecare CEO, Chris Beer noted that the unique nature of the organisation’s model had allowed them to achieve such an unprecedented level of growth.
“We pride ourselves on being a home for any practice that is focused on delivering the best care for their patients, no matter how they do so. This makes for a very varied and diverse group of partners, which we believe is our key strength. By listening and learning from our partners, we know that when we add this to our back-end powerhouse of marketing, supply chain and business support, we have a winning formula for success. This has meant we have enjoyed fantastic results at a time when a lot of retail is hurting.”
He added that the recent additions to the community of independents were a great example of the calibre of partners the group is attracting.
“We are delighted to be welcoming such varied and well respected practices to the George & Matilda Eyecare family. We have worked closely with each of them on what the long term plan looks like for them and that close communication and values alignment has been key to our relationships across the community we have built.”
Steve Wakeling, partner at Prime Vision Care Centre’s in Oakleigh and Ormond said it was the value that George & Matilda Eyecare brought to the table that differentiated the group from other offerings.
“I am impressed at the sophistication of what George & Matilda Eyecare has to offer independent practices… George & Matilda Eyecare has invested in marketing and supply chain platforms which can help drive measurable value for a practice like mine, allowing me to focus more time and energy on what is important to me; namely ensuring my patients receive an exceptional level of care and attention.”
George & Matilda Eyecare is set to have another big year, one that Chris Beer believes will be transformative for the business.
“When I look at the plans we have in play, as well as the pipeline of other practices coming on board, I am incredibly excited about the next few months. We started this business with the vision to help the world see better by supporting and uniting local independents to build the best optometry community. It’s a big ambition, but we have invested the time and resources to create something that can bring about meaningful change for the industry in the long term.”
