After 45 years in the optical industry, Healy Optical Group Pty Limited has gone into voluntary administration.
Healy Optical was established in 1975 as a regional optical frame and accessories wholesaler and expanded throughout Australia and New Zealand to become a leading independent distributor of sunglasses and optics in high fashion and mainstream brands as well as high quality spectacle cases, cleaning cloths and clip on sunglasses.
Lead by David Healy, it represents brands including Tom Ford, Roberto Cavalli, Tods, Dsquared2, Lafont, Swarovski, Mont Blanc, Balenciaga & Cat, Charmant, Elle, Esprit, Aristar & Valmax.
The company appointed Michael Hogan and Brendan Copeland from Hogansprowles as liquidators on 8 March 2019 and in a statement said, “Due to David’s ongoing health issues, he and his family were left with no other alternative than to make this extremely difficult decision.
“The business is continuing to trade and we are working with the Liquidators to explore a variety of options to sell or restructure the business. Customers are invited to continue to purchase stock that is currently available and liaise with the sales representatives to make purchases.
“It is important to note that all product sold during this transitional period will be covered by manufacturing warranty.
“David and his family would like to sincerely thank all customers for their ongoing support over the years.”
