Big W has confirmed that 175 team members will be impacted by the closure of its 41 optical stores by early July 2019.
Vanessa Churnin, Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs at BIG W told mivision the store closures would lead to increased profitability for the company.
“As part of BIG W’s strategic review, we are working toward building a stronger and more profitable BIG W for the future and therefore we have made the decision to focus on categories that are core for our customers.

“Our 41 optical stores will be open for customers until the beginning of July 2019 and the latest date for customers to have eye tests or make prescription orders will be Friday, 7 June 2019. All orders will need to be collected by 30 June 2019,” said Ms Churnin.
