Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children Named ACOD’s “Charity of Choice”

The Australasian College of Optical Dispensers (ACOD) has officially partnered with Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC), Australia’s largest non-government provider of therapy, education, cochlear implant and diagnostic services for people with hearing or vision loss.

As ACOD’s new charity partner, RIDBC will receive donations each semester, calculated on a portion of the students’ fees.

Melissa Bergin, Director of RIDBC Community Partnerships and Fundraising, welcomed the partnership saying, “On behalf of RIDBC we are pleased that ACOD have chosen RIDBC as their charity of choice. Through the generous financial support from ACOD we are able to help achieve the best outcomes for current and future generations of Australians with vision and/or hearing loss.”

RIDBC supports thousands of adults, children and their families, each year. Services are provided from 18 sites across Australia and through an outreach service that supports clients living in regional areas. As a charity, RIDBC relies heavily on fundraising and community support to be able to continue to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with vision or hearing loss. Ridbc.org.au.
