Representatives from MyHealth1st, the online booking and consumer awareness portal for the eye health profession, will be in New Zealand next month to meet with optometrists throughout the country who are interested to find out how it can help build their practices and benefit consumers.
“In Australia, we have been working to refine the portal and we have strengthened our offering by implementing education and awareness programs to target people who are not currently having their eyes checked,” said Klaus Bartosch, CEO of 1st Group, which owns MyHealth1st. “This is the most important part of our work – we want to encourage people of all ages to proactively look after their eye health, which of course will drive them into optometry practices,” he said, adding that these programs will be rolled out across New Zealand.
MyHealth 1st launched in Australia in 2011 and New Zealand in 2018, and today over 60% of independent optometry practices in Australia and NZ are using the portal.
The company will attend the NZAO annual conference in Hawkes Bay on the 18th & 19th of October, the annual conference of the Association of Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (NZ) from 1–3 November in Hawkes Bay and the Eye Institute Conference on Sunday 17th November in Auckland, “Then we will be travelling around the country to meet individually with optometrists who want to find out more,” said Mr Bartosch.
