Optometry Australia is looking to support two early career optometrists in developing their interest and knowledge in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
Two bursaries are being offered to early career optometrists (within 10 years of graduation), to support their attendance at the Close the Gap for Vision by 2020: The Gap and Beyond National Conference 2020 in Adelaide on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 March 2020.
Optometry Australia is calling for expressions of interest which outline the individual’s reason for wanting to attend the conference and any experience to date in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. EOIs should be sent to policy@optometry.org.au by 31 January 2020. Successful applicants will be advised mid-February 2020.
“The Annual Close the Gap for Vision Conference offers an important opportunity to expand one’s knowledge in the different issues and priority areas in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health,” said Optometry Australia’s Policy and Advocacy Manager Sarah Davies. “We are excited to be able to support early career optometrists with an interest in this area to attend.”
The $1,200 bursary is intended to contribute to the recipient’s travel, accommodation and conference registration.
