Optometric Community Rallies to Support Bushfire Victims

The team at mivision is deeply saddened by the devastation being wreaked on individuals, their families, friends, homes and businesses by the 2019/20 bushfires.

If you… would like to share your story about how you or your business has been effected, or are helping the bushfire effort, please email editor@mivision.com.au

Our thoughts are with all of those effected, and we thank members of the optometric community who are doing what they can to help victims of the bushfires get through this extremely challenging time.

Some of the businesses offering assistance include Eyecare Plus at Forster, Taree and Gloucester, as well as Hoya, Rim Optics and Tigervision, who offered to replace lost glasses for bushfire victims of northern NSW prior to Christmas.

On 3 January, Rodenstock and Hannaford Eyewear in Bowral NSW, announced they would provide replacement glasses to bushfire victims who have lost their homes and/or possessions, and to firefighters who have lost or had their spectacles damaged as a result of fighting the fires. Additionally, AFT Pharmaceuticals and Good Optical Services provided Hylofresh drops to volunteers from the NSW Rural Fire Service’s Southern Highlands team.

If you are a member of the optometric community, and you would like to share your story about how you or your business has been effected, or are helping the bushfire effort, please email editor@mivision.com.au.
