BlueSky 2020, Optometry Victoria and South Australia’s Adelaide-based biennial conference, will be held as a hybrid event this year with delegates able to attend in-person if they’re able, alongside online delegates who will be able to join Blue Sky via live-streaming of all lectures. 30 CPD points (with assessment) are available across the full two days, from Friday 20 November to Saturday 21 November.
The conference will be opened by Australian of the Year, ophthalmologist Dr James Muecke who will deliver an inspiring address titled, Harnessing your passion to change the world.

Popular international keynote speakers Dr Nate Lighthizer and Dr Blair Lonsberry will stream in live direct from the United States for 90 minutes as a dual presentation.
Neuro-ophthalmologist Associate Professor Celia Chen will present two sessions – the first on visual field changes and the second on optical coherence tomography in neuro-ophthalmology.
South Australian-based optometrists Jeremiah Lim, Gavin O’Callaghan and Jason Booth will also deliver presentations. Additional speaker and program updates will be announced over the coming weeks.
The face-to-face event includes education, a trade show, all meals and the much loved Sundowner social event, which will be held within the Adelaide Convention Centre overlooking the river.
The non-clinical conference theme for this year is the Olympics. Delegates are encouraged to dress to the theme if they wish, and the music and entertainment that is a well-loved part of the conference will reflect all things Olympiad.
