The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) will host its 2021 annual meeting online from 2 –6 May.
The decision to shift to a virtual format was made due to the continued, pervasive spread of COVID-19, in addition to limitations on venue capacity and strict travel restrictions in place by worldwide governments, members’ universities and institutions.
In a statement the Board said, “During these challenging times, we feel it is critical to continue to provide a forum in which scientific research can proceed and be shared globally. ARVO is focused on providing a robust and meaningful scientific exchange in a virtual format to help ensure the health and safety of all. A virtual event allows for an expanded reach of the annual meeting to more people than ever, in real-time and asynchronously, with live chats that encourage meaningful dialogue.”
The ARVO 2021 annual meeting, themed Revolutionary eye and vision research, is open for registrations. Visit www.arvo.org/annual-meeting.
