There’s nothing stopping the growth and impact of sustainable recycled-plastic eyewear company Sea2see.
Founded by social entrepreneur François van den Abeele, Sea2see champions a vertically integrated sustainable business model, creating its own infrastructure for collecting marine plastic waste (which provides new income for fishers), then using the waste as a raw material to create high-quality frames, made exclusively in Italy. The range comprises over 135 sunglasses and optical frames and is distributed to more than 3,000 optical stores around the world. Pictured is Positano 02, which won the prestigious 2020 Optician Award for frame of the year.
