For the first time, independent optometrists in Australia and New Zealand have been invited to attend Eyecare Plus’ national conference. Traditionally, the biennial ‘Inspire’ conference has been exclusively available to members and their staff.
“The Eyecare Plus National Conference offers business education, which is different to most other optometry conferences,” commented Simon Lewis, General Manager of Eyecare Plus. “By opening up our registrations to the rest of the independent optometry community, it allows Eyecare Plus to showcase the benefits of membership, while providing our colleagues with quality education.
“The program offers topics for both business owners and staff and we will be applying for Institute of Excellence Quality Assurance CPD points,” he added.

Keynote speakers include Tim Reid, Sue Langley and Kurt Fearnley. Mr Reid is the founder and host of Australia and New Zealand’s number one business and marketing podcast, The Small Business Big Marketing Show. Now in its sixth year, the show is downloaded in 110 countries and has a global audience of tens of thousands of business owners. Mr Reid travels the world showing business owners and marketers how to implement modern marketing methods – gaining success and increasing profits – without spending a fortune.
Ms Langley, an expert in emotional intelligence, will guide the audience through how to inspire and influence people through emotions. Mr Fearnley, one of Australia’s most well-known and respected athletes, will use his experience representing Australia in wheelchair sports, to inspire the audience to be stronger together.
