In this episode, Dr Maria Cabrera-Aguas, a researcher at the University of Sydney, Save Sight Institute, chats with Dr Jack Tan, a general practitioner from Adelaide who is undertaking his PhD at the Save Sight Institute, on a new technology to close corneal wounds without stitches.
During the podcast, Dr Tan speaks about how this technology uses a patch which sticks onto the cornea upon laser activation, sealing full thickness corneal wounds; how the technique was started, its advantages and potential complications over traditional treatments such as stitches and glue.
