Zeiss has a new Head of Vision Care to lead the way for its Australia/ New Zealand operations.
Gail Giordani, the former Managing Director of Carl Zeiss Vision South Africa, succeeds Hilke Fitzsimons, who has taken on a new role within the Global organisation.
A medical scientist specialising in Haematology, Ms Giordani brings over two decades’ experience within the company. She began her career at Zeiss South Africa in 1999 as a member of the microscopy division focusing on the market development of fluorescent and confocal microscopy. In 2014, she was appointed Managing Director of Carl Zeiss South Africa.
Ms Giordani has relocated to Adelaide and joins the team at the Zeiss Tonsley Innovation District. “I am excited to join a committed team who focus on providing our customers with innovative solutions to stay ahead of our rapidly changing digital world,” said Ms Giordani.
“Based on my years of experience within the Zeiss organisation and a developing market, I intend to leverage this knowledge, positioning Zeiss Vision Care in the Australia / New Zealand market as a partner of choice for our customers.

Ms Giordani continued, “Sustainability remains an integral part of our focus throughout the company and this can be seen at our Tonsley facility as we move towards utilising renewable energy.
“I am excited to be making a big life and professional change and look forward to travelling around Australia and New Zealand meeting with our customers and industry role players.

This year Zeiss celebrates 175 years in optics and has been providing innovative products to the ANZ market for 60 years.
