CooperVision takes Action for World Sight

CooperVision has taken action to support World Sight Day, announcing an investment of £30,000 to support The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness’ (IAPB) 2022 Focus on School Eye Health Initiative. The initiative, which aims to raise advocacy, awareness, and knowledge of the importance of proper eye health services in schools, comprises a series of webinars, events, blog posts, and video content.

The company’s comprehensive campaign has been embraced by employees around the world, yet again, who raised money and awareness for World Sight Day by hosting events such as virtual bingo, a run/walk/cycle challenge, and raffles.

By acting act now, we can all change tomorrow

On World Sight Day, CooperVision had posts going out across its global Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn channels, using a series of assets from the IAPB, with a call to action to focus global attention on vision impairment in the spirit of this year’s theme “Love Your Eyes.”

Finally, CooperVision released a powerful short video on the myopia pandemic among children, its increasing prevalence and severity. In the video, Dan McBride, President of CooperVision, and Juan Carlos Aragón, OD, President of CooperVision Specialty EyeCare, discuss the company’s extensive myopia management portfolio, as well as its partnership with the World Council of Optometry to help drive a standard of care for myopia management. Together they encourage eye health professionals around the world, with Mr McBride concluding, “By acting act now, we can all change tomorrow”.
