O-Show22 Set to Make an Impact

O-Show is finally coming to Sydney and, judging by the early demand for exhibition space, the optical industry is excited.

The event will showcase brands, big and small, with new products that exhibitors have been waiting to showcase at a face-to-face event.

ODMA’s General Manager, Amanda Trotman, who is overseeing this major event, said, “given the industry’s disappointment over the cancellation of O=MEGA21 due to COVID-19, ODMA went back to the drawing board with its O-Show Trade Fair floorplan, increasing the number of booths available by 25% to ensure no supplier would miss out on obtaining space”.

Products on exhibition will range from high fashion frames through to lenses and equipment from suppliers that include eyewear developers 3d Explorer, and established brands such as Zeiss, which celebrated its 175th Anniversary in 2021.

As William Robinson of Designs for Vision (DFV) quipped, “With the cancellation of the novel O=MEGA conference in 21 we are relieved to learn of the O-Show variant planned for release in Sydney in May 22”.

He continued, “This will give DFV the first real opportunity to demonstrate new products from our marquee suppliers; iCare, Nidek, Oculus and Keeler, as well as new sensational devices from boutique suppliers. We are really looking forward to sharing our infectious excitement with you.”

Cylite, which alongside its design partner Cobalt, was awarded ‘Best in Class’ for Engineering Design at the prestigious 2021 Good Design Australia awards, will also be on show. Matthew Wensor, Senior Product Manager at Cylite, commented, “We are very much looking forward to attending O-Show22 because it will be the first time that we will be able to physically show the new HP-OCT to optometrists. So in other words, it will be a world-first and the global unveiling of the technology.”

Alongside the vibrant exhibition will be a Spotlight Stage featuring short, yet information packed, sessions focused on fashion and business topics.

Exhibitors and visitors alike should look out for the Golden Ticket promotion this month (February) which offers those who register and attend O-Show a chance to win a Gold Coast holiday.
