Optometry Virtually Connected is the largest virtual optometric conference in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing together leading educators and a product showcase
Launched in 2020, Optometry Virtually Connected is the largest virtual optometric conference in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing together leading educators and a product showcase which together provide delegates with access to the latest clinical and patient management practices and equipment.
Created by optometrists for optometrists, the 2022 event includes leading national and international educators and will deliver over 30 hours of quality live and on-demand education with a program including everything from anterior eye to neuro-optometry.
Optometry Australia’s CEO Lyn Brodie said, “Over the last two years, Optometry Virtually Connected has allowed delegates to access convenient, virtual education and networking opportunities as well as the latest optometric product innovation.
“Optometry Australia’s philosophy is to provide education in a flexible, convenient environment that can fit in with optometrists’ patient and personal demands.
“Last year Optometry Virtually Connected attracted delegates from around the world. The 2021 program received overwhelming endorsement from delegates so, following such positive feedback, we’re delighted to once again to open up our conference to optometrists from across Australia – and the world – so they can join us for Optometry Virtually Connected this June.
“We are pleased to again welcome New Zealand Association of Optometrists as our international partner.
“Optometry Virtually Connected is a core educational offering from Optometry Australia’s Institute of Excellence. The conference sits alongside our year-round webinars, publications, podcasts and on-demand learning options.”
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr Noel Brennan, a preeminent academic in contact lenses and myopia. He’ll present alongside a quality line up of Australian and international speakers including Dr Jim Thimons, Dr Alex Hui and Associate Professor Laura Downie.
The Optometry Virtually Connected event platform is now live and it will be continually updated over the coming weeks.
Here, optometrists can explore the speakers, education sessions and the product showcase.
Registrations are open now and is free for members of Optometry Australia and the New Zealand Association of Optometrists, or AU$395 for non-members.
