Find an Optometrist, a job advertising platform developed for optometrists and orthoptists, continues to be expanded and enhanced with the launch of a new feature, ‘Ophthalmologist of the Week’.
Nadia Khalid, managing director of Find an Optometrist, said that each week, the new feature will aim to highlight one ophthalmologist from each state the country, drawing attention to their subspeciality, their expertise and clinical experience.

“For some time, Find an Optometrist has provided optometrists with a great resource, enabling them to quickly search out ophthalmologists in their area so they can refer patients on to specialists with the clinical expertise they need,” Ms Khalid explained.
“Now we’re boosting the feature, with an aim to highlight one ophthalmologist each week whose profile will appear at the very top of their state’s listing and/or on our website homepage, with a clickable link straight through to their website for more information and ease of referral.
“We will also post a profile of the ‘Ophthalmologist of the Week’ on our Find an Optometrist social media pages – LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter – which are followed by thousands of optometrists.”

While Find an Optometrist was established as a job advertising platform, Ms Khalid says its reach goes far beyond optometrists looking for new positions.
“Optometrists are increasingly recognising the value we offer them by providing resources, like our ophthalmologist directory, and a handy service that lets them register days off, so we can contact other optometrists who may be available to replace them, on a ‘once off’ basis, at short notice.
“We actively invite all optometrists to visit our website and follow Find an Optometrist on social media – even if they are happily employed – because there is no harm in knowing about other jobs and being kept in the loop on the latest positions available,” Ms Khalid said.
“And, we invite ophthalmologists to be added to our free directory, and become an Ophthalmologist of the Week, so that optometrists can more easily find out all about them and know who to refer on to.”
