An Australian roadshow for optometrists this October will provide evidence-based research on how to positively change the behaviour of your contact lens patients.
Organised by Scientia A/Prof Nicole Carnt, from The School of Optometry and Vision Science, UNSW, Sydney, the Healthy Contact Lens Wear Roadshow originated in the United Kingdom. It presents a series of amusing scenarios starring caricatures of ‘Witless Wearers’, filmed with actors by Moorfields/UCL Biomedical Research Centre, to demonstrate typical contact lens wearer behaviour and provide strategies to teach healthy contact lens wear. Filming was funded by an Independent Medical Education Grant from Alcon.
