The Child Myopia Working Group – a collaboration of leading optometrists and ophthalmologists from Australia and New Zealand – has established a LinkedIn page, which is expected to become the primary communication channel for the group. With aims to increase awareness of the Group’s work and initiatives, and encourage stakeholder participation, the page will be added to each week with content sourced from the 2022/2023 Myopia Report Reducing the Risk to Vision and will reinforce the importance of a standard of care.
Enabled by CooperVision ANZ, the Child Myopia Working Group was established in 2018 to deliver a recommended standard of care for the management of myopia in children with the aim of slowing its progression.
The LinkedIn Group page gives the Group the opportunity to strengthen their voice around myopia management with the aim of encouraging participation of key stakeholders
Shannon Morrow, Marketing Communications Manager, ANZ at CooperVision, explained that the target audience for the Group’s new page spans industry stakeholders, optometrists, and practice managers across the region. Visitors are encouraged to Like, Comment on, and Share information published on the site.
“The LinkedIn Group page gives the Group the opportunity to strengthen their voice around myopia management with the aim of encouraging participation of key stakeholders to accept, adopt and be aware of myopia management as being the Standard of Care,” she said.
