VEI has announced the return of its ‘SHARED VISION national webinar series’, offering what it describes as “clinical pearls relevant to day-to-day optometric practice”.
The first webinar, to be held via Zoom on the evening of Wednesday 29 March, will hear from a panel of highly-experienced ophthalmologists, Dr Christolyn Raj, Dr Rushmia Karim and Dr Alex Ioannidis.
The session, entitled ‘Cataracts and neuro-ophthalmology’, will focus on managing cataracts in patients with co-existing conditions, such as macular disease and corneal scarring, as well as providing insight into neuro cases.
There will be a question-and-answer session, moderated by Dr Lewis Levitz.
Registration is free, with the webinar sponsored by Vision Hospital Group.

Dr Christolyn Raj
Dr Christolyn Raj is a versatile and highly experienced cataract surgeon and key figure in the field of retinal medicine. Her subspecialty training is in the areas of retinal disease, cataract and anterior segment, and paediatrics. Dr Raj has a strong interest in education and research.
Dr Rushmia Karim
Dr Rushmia Karim is a UK-trained ophthalmologist with over 10 years of experience. She specialises in paediatric ophthalmology and is a skilled surgeon, performing cataract, lens and strabismus surgery in both adults and children. She also has expertise in neuro-ophthalmology.
Dr Alex Ioannidis
Dr Alex Ioannidis is a cataract and anterior segment surgeon. He offers tailored solutions to optimise refractive outcomes after cataract surgery using the latest in IOL technology.
Moderator – Dr Lewis Levitz
Dr Lewis Levitz is a highly experienced ophthalmic surgeon, with a special interest in conventional and laser cataract surgery. He offers his patients the latest in lens technology such as toric and multifocal intraocular lenses.
