UNSW Medicine and Health has created a new series of short courses to equip health professionals, clinicians, and non-clinicians with skills needed to boost their impact within Australia and globally.
Within the series are two offerings created by UNSW School of Optometry and Vision Science; one on dry eye disease: diagnosis and management, and the second on evidence-based myopia management.
The dry eye disease course aims to equip practising optometrists with the ability to differentially diagnose the disease from other possible conditions. It also aims to enable optometrists to manage dry eye disease using pharmacological and non-pharmacological options.
The myopia management course aims to provide optometrists with knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage progressive myopia. This course offers expert insight into the latest evidence-based optical, pharmacological, and behavioural interventions for appropriately and effectively managing progressive myopia.
The short courses leverage the award-winning educational expertise of Associate Professor Maria Markoulli (dry eye disease) and Dr Nayuta Yoshioka (myopia).
Each course is accredited by Optometry Australia’s Institute of Excellence for 30 CPD points.
Each course has been approved for 30 hours by Optometry Australia (OA) for the Institute of Excellence Quality Assurance.
