Silmo d’Or

Fashion designer Nicolas Fafiotte has taken on the prestigious role of President of the Silmo d’Or awards.

A graduate of the top French Fashion School ESMOD, Mr Fafiotte trained in Paris – particularly with Emmanuel Ungaro – before moving to Lyon in the early 2000s. His design workshop offers bespoke wedding dresses and evening gowns that are, in his own words, “exceptional garments for exceptional occasions that express celebration”.

Silmo Paris will be held from 29 September to 2 October in Paris. The event brings together 900 exhibitors from 42 countries and is expected to attract 27,000 visitors.
The winners of the 2023 Silmo d’Or awards will be announced during a ceremony on 1 October.

Taking inspiration from the success and dedication of the elite athletes that will be descending on the city for the Rugby World Cup, the Silmo Academy’s 12th Scientific Symposium will offer a program to provide participants with the keys to becoming elite practitioners.

Promising to “bring the commercial and clinical worlds together to mirror the uniqueness of the optical sector and services we provide”, the education program will feature leading international speakers, with free sessions available in French and English.

Registration is available at en.silmoparis.com.
