Eye care professionals (ECPs) are invited to participate in a one-day hybrid conference, organised by the Primary Care Diabetes Society of Australia (PCDSA), focussed on interdisciplinary care of people living with diabetes.
ECPs will be joined by general practitioners, pharmacists, diabetes educators, dieticians, podiatrists, and other allied health professionals to not only expand their knowledge of the chronic systemic condition, but to better understand the inter-relationship between the various side effects and potential complications.
PCDSA said prevention is key and a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach is critical for a patient-centric approach that will make a positive difference in patient health outcomes and quality of life.
The PCDSA was created in 2015 with the aim of supporting primary care health professionals to deliver high-quality clinically effective care to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.
An early bird registration rate ends on 31 August 2023.
PCDSA said the one-day hybrid conference will be held on Thursday 16 November in Melbourne and has been created around four major themes to showcase current programs that have enabled interdisciplinary care in the community:
Session 1: Team care in the digital age,
Session 2: Have we lost sight of eye-screening?
Session 3: How to apply the latest evidence about medications to manage diabetes into practice,
