With a jam-packed conference program (featuring over 80 presentations, and over 110 posters across three sessions), there’s plenty to look forward to at this year’s O=MEGA.
The keynote speakers for this year’s conference are Professor James S Wolffsohn and Professor Susan Cotter.
Dr Wolffsohn has been a Professor of Optometry at Aston University since 2000. Formerly Deputy Executive Dean for Life Sciences and then associate Pro-Vice Chancellor, he is the Head of the School of Optometry and also Head of the Department of Audiology.
Prof Susan Cotter is a co-Chair of the Paediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG), a clinical research network of over 350 paediatric optometrists and ophthalmologists funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Eye Institute (NIH/NEI), that performed clinical investigations related to paediatric eye disorders.
With computer vision syndrome now affecting up to 60% of people using computers, delegates will be interested to hear from Associate Professor Andrew Anderson and Associate Professor Laura Downie, who will present on the efficacy of blue light blocking lenses in preventing eye strain on digital devices.
