Silmo has announced the winners of its prestigious Silmo d’Or Awards, with ‘Ouvrage’, a unique frame, embroidered with pearls and embellishments by Lafont taking out the jury’s special prize.
The frames were crafted by Satoshi Sekimoto and based on an Haute Couture concept, developed by Thomas Lafont.
The Premiere Class Show Award was given to Veronika Wildgruber for a sophisticated frame called ‘Lane’, described as Hollywood glamour meets summer festival.
Other winners were Etnia Barcelona with BA-BAAAANG! (Best Children’s Frame); Marchon’s Nike ‘Flyfree’ (Sport); EssilorLuxottica’s Varilux XR Series (Vision Visual Health); Morrow eProgressives (Vision Optical System); and Saargos Quicksee Free Plenoptika (Material / Equipment).
ODLM-Seaport took out two categories in Brand & Label (CC1086 – VEDO – Carven (Optical Frame) and CC4091S (Sunglasses). SBrusset & Co with Meyro-NDE OP won Technological Innovation in Eyewear, Andy Wolf’s Blossom col.05 took home best Sunglass – Eyewear Designer; and Cutler and Gross took Best Optical Frame – Eyewear Designer with 9126 Lunettes Cat-Eye.
