Spectrum Surgical, an independent Australian owned company established in 1995, is providing innovative solutions that offer advancements in ophthalmic surgery, diagnostics, and more from manufacturers of the highest quality. mivision asked Peter Grech, the owner of Spectrum, to describe some of the products he will be showcasing at the forthcoming RANZCO trade show in Perth.
Here’s what he had to say.
This innovative device brings cross-linking technology to the slit lamp, making the procedure simple, efficient, and safe from the novice to the expert user
Precivia for Safer Injections
Precivia is a single use device that “ensures a safer injection procedure and simplifies intravitreal injections”.
Mr Grech said Precivia eliminates the need for a speculum, caliper or pressure plate. “It also eliminates unnecessary instruments, assures accuracy, prevents leakage, and is compatible with commonly used anti-VEGF drugs. Precivia is 100% recyclable.”
C-Eye Device for Cross-Linking
The C-Eye device combines “several exciting features with the unique possibility of using CXL and PACK-CXL technology at the slit lamp”.
“This innovative device brings cross-linking technology to the slit lamp, making the procedure simple, efficient, and safe from the novice to the expert user.”
The portable C-Eye device can also be used just like any other CXL device, on a table mount, in your operating room, or in multiple other locations as required. It is charged via USB-C, or even with a powerbank.
HumanOptics Customflex ArtificialIris for Aniridia
“The natural iris plays an important role in the optical system of the eye, giving eyes their colour and influencing personal appearance,” Mr Grech told mivision.
“Aniridia therefore, not only reduces optical quality due to photophobia, aberration errors, glare, and the loss of depth of field, but it also has a negative effect on the appearance and quality of life of the patient.”
One hundred per cent made in Germany, HumanOptics Customflex ArtificialIris is the only foldable artificial iris with or without optic that is FDA/CE/TGA/Medsafe approved for general use.
