O-Show Aligns with Super Sunday 17-19 May 2024

The weekend of 17-19 May 2024 is shaping up to be one of the highlights on the optometry calendar with O-Show24 – the boutique trade event – followed by optometry NSW/ACT’s annual conference Super Sunday, all taking place over three consecutive days.

O-Show, which is an initiative of the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA), promises to be a “multi-faceted” event, enabling all practice team members to benefit from attendance. Initiatives in the pipeline include a new floorplan with a ‘Frames Central’ feature area, interactive displays, and product releases from MIDO Italy.

ODMA CEO Amanda Trotman said extended hours and plenty of networking and social events will add to the event’s appeal.

“My role is centred around supporting distributors and manufacturers and helping strengthen independent practice; live events are key to combining these aims,” said Ms Trotman. “ODMA has delivered many successful events for many years and is excited to now have O-Show as a key addition to the calendar, providing a Sydney-based event.”

The boutique trade fair will take place at the Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park, having outgrown any city centre venues.

“The Hordern suits O-show so well as it is literally just on the outskirts of the city, is serviced by light rail as well as buses right up to its doorstep, and has free two-hour parking with great rates for beyond that time period,” Ms Trotman said.

Maximise Your Event Investment

Ms Trotman said the opportunity to back-up O-Show with Super Sunday would be welcomed by many eyecare professionals from outside Sydney who had previously expressed a desire to attend both events but an inability to do so.

She said their comments that “sparked the idea of alignment that will see ONSWACT and ODMA collaborate so that attendees can gain maximum value for their time investment”.

Andrew McKinnon, CEO of Optometry NSW/ACT said Super Sunday 2024 will offer 10 CPD hours (including 7.5T and 2i) in the beautiful Sydney harbourside venue of Doltone House, Darling Island.

The program will feature a stellar line-up of Australian and International speakers, with a strong ocular pathology theme. All delegates registered to attend the conference will be invited to attend the OSHOW24 Saturday night networking event.
