Alcon has acquired Belkin Vision, the Israeli company behind the Eagle SLT laser, a Q-switched, 532 nm-wavelength, frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser designed for selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). The Eagle SLT laser is described as the first and only contactless laser for glaucoma treatment, offering an automated and non-invasive approach that benefits both patients and healthcare providers.
Further details of the deal, potentially valued at over US$335 million, will be revealed following its closure, which is anticipated at the start of the third quarter of 2024.
