Talking Eyes Podcast Launch

A new Australian podcast aims to “bridge the gap between cutting-edge research, and the everyday experiences of health professionals, students, and the general public.

Season One of the Talking Eyes podcast, by Darwin optometrist Lien Trinh, is dedicated to the retina, and will explore the latest advancements in retinal research and their translation into tangible clinical practices.

“‘Talking Retina’ is our first series… from unravelling the mysteries of retinal diseases to pioneering innovative treatments, each episode unveils the tireless efforts of leading experts striving to combat previously unavoidable blindness.”

The first guest is Associate Professor Lauren Ayton, Principal Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. Assoc Prof Ayton co-leads the Retinal Gene Therapy Unit and is head of the Vision Optimisation Unit.

“Our mission is to demystify the complexities of vision, eye health, and best practice management, by translating expert insights through the accessible and engaging medium of a podcast,” Ms Trinh said.

“We’re thrilled to launch Talking Eyes and offer listeners an inside look into the dynamic world of retinal research. Our guests are true visionaries, dedicated to bridging the gap between scientific discovery and real-world impact, ultimately transforming the landscape of vision care.”
