Cura Day Hospitals has announced it will acquire PresMed Holdings, creating a network of 36 facilities across Australia.
PresMed, established in 1997, consists of seven day hospitals – five in New South Wales and one each in the Australian Captial Territory and Tasmania. It also has one consulting practice in NSW.
Peter Freeleagus, Chief Executive Officer of Cura Day Hospitals Group, said patients would benefit from improved care options and a wider range of facilities.
“Our patients remain our top priority, and this acquisition allows us to better serve them with expanded offerings while maintaining our high standards of care and service,” he said.
The company said the larger, more diverse network would present “enhanced career development opportunities, including leadership roles and professional growth pathways”.

“This positions Cura as an attractive employer for top talent, with a broader national presence and increased market leadership,” Mr Freeleagus added.
Cura Chairperson Dr Keith Zabell noted the benefits to doctors from a more extensive hospital group, with a “wider choice of facilities and technologically advanced equipment”.
