Vale: Graeme Curtis

Graeme Curtis, the well-respected owner of Contact Lens Centre Australia (CLCA) and Corneal Lens Corporation New Zealand (CLC), has passed away, following a battle with cancer.

Mr Curtis acquired CLC and CLCA from his father in 2001, expanding the business into what has become one of the most modern contact lens laboratories in Australasia, and the largest contact lens manufacturer to specialise in custom made rigid gas permeable, scleral, orthokeratology and soft contact lenses. Additionally, his companies supply the optometric market with dry eye products and diagnostic equipment.

In doing so, Mr Curtis has built long lasting relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues worldwide.

In a statement issued by CLCA and CLC, Mr Curtis was described as “the driving force” behind the organisation for many years. “His vision and leadership shaped Corneal Lens Corporation into the trusted and innovative company it is today”.

The statement continued, “Graeme leaves behind a legacy of enthusiasm, innovation, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the eye care industry.”

Mr Curtis passed away on 9 January 2025. The funeral service will be held at St Chistopher’s Anglican Church, Avonhead, Christchurch, New Zealand on Thursday 16 January at 1pm.
