ODMAFair25, from 27-29 June in Sydney, will present a series of educational sessions and hands-on workshops designed to arm delegates with new knowledge and skills to immediately elevate their optometric practice.
The sessions will be organised into three distinct streams – Business, Practice Management, and Dispensing. Each stream will feature expert-led discussions, interactive learning, and practical exercises:
Business stream sessions include: How to become a practice owner, Improving medical and private health insurance billing efficiencies, and Engaging your team: From probation to peak performance.
Practice Management stream sessions include: Optimising inventory, Marketing to Gen Z, and Establishing your practice point of difference.
Dispensers stream sessions include: Lasting fashion eyewear trends, ODA frames repair workshop, and 21st Century tools for the optical dispenser, as well as several sessions on myopia management.
Adam Spencer to Open
Well known radio and tv presenter Adam Spencer will open the educational sessions with a keynote address at the welcome breakfast. Renowned for presenting complex topics in an entertaining and highly accessible way, Mr Spencer will take a deep dive into how technology is revolutionising our world.
He will speak on topics ranging from AI including ChatGPT, to new technology-based products, as well as social and cyber threats. Additionally, Mr Spencer will advise on how to draw on the youngest people in your workforce to maximise the potential of technology and provide tips for keeping up if you feel overwhelmed by the pace of change.
Mr Spencer will be available immediately following the breakfast, in smaller workshop settings, to discuss how technology can be leveraged in the context of optometry practices. Topics for discussion will include harnessing data for marketing, attracting young talent and young clients that expect digital efficiency, and targeting messaging to demographics for maximum effect.
