Sydney-based ophthalmology practice Eye Associates is going all out to celebrate World Glaucoma Week, raising awareness about the “silent thief of sight” with a series of activities—all themed around the official colour of the campaign, GREEN.
Throughout the week, patients and staff will come together to spread the message of early detection and treatment. The practice will be lit up in green, symbolising hope for those affected by glaucoma. Patients will receive green ribbons, and they’ll also have the chance to share their thoughts on green heart-shaped notes, which will be displayed on a special awareness wall.
Eye Associates staff will participate in a green mufti day, adding a fun and eye-catching element to the campaign. And for a sweet touch, the team will be handing out delicious cupcakes featuring the World Glaucoma Week logo.
Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness worldwide, with approximately 50% of cases yet to be detected. By bringing attention to this important issue, Eye Associates hopes to encourage more people to get regular eye checks and protect their vision for the future.
