Visual Neuroscience Webinar: 8 April, 2025

Delve into the intricate relationship between perception and the visual system, at a webinar presented by Rodenstock on 8 April.

Presented by neuroscientist Dr Alexandra Sipatchin, during this webinar you will discover how crucial perception is in shaping our overall visual experience, and how it can be influenced.

More About the Topic

Our visual system constantly receives input from the surrounding environment, as our eyes move rapidly across different fields of view and adjust to shifting angles. This dynamic nature of vision requires the brain to continuously filter, process, and interpret incoming data, effectively constructing our perception of the world.

Dr Sipatchin will shed light on her research and the insights that could influence our individual perception to provide a unique and optimal visual solution for each individual

Given that every individual has a unique visual system, both structurally and functionally, this raises an important question: How can we influence perception to develop personalised and optimised visual solutions for each patient?

By exploring the interplay between vision, cognition, and perception, Dr Sipatchin will shed light on her research and the insights that could influence our individual perception to provide a unique and optimal visual solution for each individual.

About the Speakers

Dr Alexandra Sipatchin

Neuroscientist Dr Alexandra Sipatchin dedicated over a decade to the field of neuroscience before entering the optics industry in 2017.

She earned a Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences with a specialisation in Neuroscience from the University of Tübingen in 2023, completing research at the ZEISS Vision Science Lab in Tübingen.

Dr Sipatchin’s research areas have also encompassed AI and clinical research in ophthalmology. She has worked at leading research institutes, including the Max Planck Institute, the Werner Reichardt Centre for Integrative Neuroscience, and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Dr Sipatchin joined Rodenstock in 2023 and currently holds the role of International Product Manager and Project Manager in Medical Technology, where she applies her expertise to advancing innovations in visual perception and optical solutions.

Alex Rigby

Alex Rigby, Professional Services Manager at Rodenstock, is a highly experienced optometrist with more than 20 years in the optical industry.
