A new robot, powered artificial intelligence (AI), is set to revolutionise facility maintenance as it arrives in Australia this May, following successful deployment internationally. The X4 ROVR by Tennant Australia provides an intelligent cleaning solution for hospitals, shopping centres, data centres and grocery stores.
At the heart of the X4 ROVR is the next-generation BrainOS Clean Suite, a powerful AI platform that delivers real-time insights, improved navigation, and seamless control. Cleaning teams can track progress, schedule tasks, and access reporting tools via a mobile app and operations portal, to meet internal audits, prove compliance, and document proof-of-clean.

According to a statement by Tennant Australia, the X4 ROVR autonomous floor scrubber features precise navigation and intelligent data driven cleaning efficacy. With the help of a 3D LiDAR and two lower LiDAR cameras that create a 360° view, it detects obstacles in high traffic areas and manoeuvres while tracking its route for public safety and reliable cleaning performance.
Markus Haefeli, Vice President APAC, Tennant said the new technology “means floors can be efficiently handled and hygiene prioritised”.

The X4 ROVR features a dual disk scrub path, a high-performance vacuum system, and technology that seamlessly adapts to various hard floor environments. Equipped with a 38 L solution tank, it can clean up to 1,860 square meters on a single full tank. It is also supported by a lithium-ion battery that powers up to two and a half hours of continuous cleaning when fully charged.
The robot has been deployed to major international retailers, including Walmart and TK Maxx.
