Raid your sock draw for the most colourful, quirky socks you own – it is Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day this Friday, 6 June.
The awareness day, to promote the need for conversations around mental health, is being promoted by the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists (ASO).
The ASO is urging all healthcare practitioners to get involved and send in photo submissions.
Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day was established by the Crazysocks4docs Trust Foundation to break down the stigma around mental health issues in doctors and health professionals.
Don your ASO super eye socks and help draw attention to the mental health and wellbeing of healthcare practitioners — because doctors matter too
Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day is an annual event, held on first Friday of June.
In a statement, ASO Chief Executive Officer Katrina Ronne said the bold and quirky socks “serve as an ongoing reminder that a conversation could save a life”.
“Don your ASO super eye socks and help draw attention to the mental health and wellbeing of healthcare practitioners — because doctors matter too.”
ASO members who have not yet collected their free pair of ASO super eye socks can email: info@asoeye.org.
