The Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) has launched an educational program for optometrists in general practice seeking to understand more about managing patients with binocular vision (BV) problems.
The Foundations in Binocular Vision Program is open to all optometrists registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency (Ahpra) (or allied organisation within another country) and provides:
- A model for managing BV problems that makes sense, is easy to follow, and can be built on in the future,
- An increased skill set to observe patients and collect data, and
- A pathway for building confidence so that practitioners can put what they learn into action.
The entire program has been accredited for 5.75 hours by Optometry Australia’s Institute of Excellence
The program comprises four online seminars to be completed prior to a full day in-practice workshop at Harmony Vision Optometry and Vision Therapy Clinic on the Gold Coast on Sunday 16 November, which will be presented by Paul Graham, an optometrist with 30 years of experience in neuro-optometric care, vision therapy, complex contact lens fitting, myopia management, and paediatric optometry.
The entire program has been accredited for 5.75 hours by Optometry Australia’s Institute of Excellence.
