Dr James Muecke AM, Sight For All co-founder and 2020 Australian of the Year, is the guest speaker at Vision Eye Institute’s (VEI) national webinar, to take place on 15 October 2025.
Dr Muecke will present Blinded – a confronting story about neglecting diabetes, the worrying rise of type 2 diabetes, and strategies to curb the toxic impact of sugar on the health of individuals and communities.
The evening will continue with a closer look at comorbidities in practice: managing cataract in patients with systemic and ocular comorbidities by Dr Rushmia Karim (NSW), and emerging treatment options for diabetic eye health by Dr Nima Pakrou (VIC). Moderating the evening, including the live audience Q&A, will be Dr John McKenzie.
Optometry Australia accreditation has been approved for: 2T hours from Institute of Excellence Quality Assured CPD hours.
