Optica Life Accessories has acquired KE Optical, a respected supplier of Australian-made products with strong industry relationships.
The move strengthens Optica’s position as a market leader and signals an increased focus on customer experience, service, and long-term support for independent optometry practices across Australia and New Zealand.
Our vision for the future, with KE Optical and Optica coming together, is to create a truly one-stop destination for quality branded optical accessories, tools, parts, and equipment
“We’re proud to welcome KE Optical into the Optica family,” said Tom Nichol, Managing Director of Optica. “Our goal is to build on KE’s strong foundation and deliver an even higher standard of customer service, responsiveness, and reliability for our customers across Australia.”
For existing KE customers, Optica has confirmed that all accessory artwork files and branding records will be securely retained, ensuring complete continuity for future orders. KE’s existing contact details will also remain in place, making the change seamless for current customers.
“After many rewarding years in the optical industry, I’ve decided to step back from the business for health reasons,” said Michael Krutsch, former owner of KE Optical. “The past 18 months have been challenging, and it was important to me that KE’s customers and suppliers would continue to be well supported. Optica has the scale, team, and systems to take KE forward and deliver the level of service our customers deserve. I want to sincerely thank everyone for their loyalty and support over the years.”
KE Optical proudly carries the Australian Made logo on many of its products and partners with a local social enterprise that provides employment opportunities for people living with disabilities. These values reflect Optica’s own commitment to community and social responsibility.
“Our vision for the future, with KE Optical and Optica coming together, is to create a truly one-stop destination for quality branded optical accessories, tools, parts, and equipment all from one place,” said Mr Nichol.
The integration of KE Optical’s operations into Optica will occur gradually over the coming months, ensuring uninterrupted service for both KE Optical and Optica customers.
