Rumours that Bailey Nelson is for sale are untrue, according to Nick Perry, co-founder of Bailey Nelson.
The Australian Financial Review reported, on 24 February 2026, that the eyewear company founded by Mr Perry and Peter Winkle, “has been taking pitches from advisory firms ahead of a sales process slated to get under way this year”.
In fact, Mr Perry said, the company has just revamped its Bondi Junction flagship store, and is planning to double the size of the business over the next five years.
Born in Bondi with just seven frames in three colours, Bailey Nelson is now a multi-national optical retail chain operating stores and providing optometry services in Australia, New Zealand and Canada within a partnership/franchising model.
