The Dry Eye Society (DES) will host an official launch event in Melbourne , bringing together eye care professionals with a shared interest in advancing the understanding and management of dry eye disease and ocular surface disorders.
The event will take place on Tuesday, 31 March 2026 at Teller, 81 Lygon Street, Brunswick East from 6pm AEST and will offer three hours of continuing professional development (CPD) focused on emerging research, clinical insights, and collaborative discussion in dry eye management.
The CPD program, presented by respected clinicians and leaders in the field, will cover:
- • Immunology – The dry eye story by Lyndon Ferguson
• Beyond the surface: Dry eye and the mental health connection by Shaina Zheng
• DEWS III: What’s in, what’s out by Jason Holland
• Cold therapies – TRP YOUR M8 by Victor Elkhoury
it aims to support eye care practitioners by facilitating knowledge exchange, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue, and providing high-quality educational opportunities
Expanding Support and Knowledge
In a statement, the Dry Eye Society said that launching into Melbourne “marks an important step in expanding the Dry Eye Society’s mission of building a collaborative professional community dedicated to improving outcomes for patients suffering from dry eye disease”.
Through events such as this, the Society said it aims to support eye care practitioners by facilitating knowledge exchange, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue, and providing high-quality educational opportunities.
