Talking Eyes: Corneal Approaches to Myopia Management

Episode 3 of Talking Eyes – ‘Corneal Approaches to Myopia Management’ – examines how corneal-based interventions can be used to slow myopic progression, with a strong emphasis on practical application in everyday clinical practice.

For this episode, host Lien Trinh is joined by Dr Nina Tahhan to unpack why earlier onset myopia management matters, how to select and position cornea-based options, and how to translate evidence into confident conversations with families.

This episode covers key clinical considerations for orthokeratology and soft myopia-control contact lenses, including patient selection, fitting fundamentals, safety and risk management, expected outcomes, follow-up cadence, and how to personalise treatment when lifestyle, ocular surface factors, and adherence differ from child to child. It’s a clear, evidence-aligned guide for practitioners wanting to strengthen their myopia toolkit while keeping care patient-centred.
