Talking Eyes: Precision Matters: Toric Lens Fitting Strategies

Talking Eyes episode four is out now.

Titled Precision matters: Toric lens fitting strategies, in this episode host Lien Trinh is joined by optometrist Helen Gleave for a practical discussion on why precision in toric contact lens fitting matters – and how small adjustments can make a meaningful difference to visual outcomes.

The episode explores the clinical nuances of fitting toric soft contact lenses, from assessing astigmatism accurately to understanding lens design, stability, and rotation. Ms Gleave shares real-world fitting strategies, common pitfalls, and tips to help practitioners improve first-fit success and patient satisfaction. With astigmatism frequently under-corrected in contact lens wear, the conversation highlights how thoughtful toric lens selection and refinement can elevate everyday contact lens practice, and deliver more consistent, high-quality vision for patients.

This episode has been approved for 0.5 CPD hours by Optometry Australia’s Institute of Excellence (IoE) Quality Assurance.
