Integrating RLRL into Contemporary Myopia Management

Optometrists are invited to explore the potential of repeated low-level-red-light-therapy (RLRL) for myopia management at an in-person continued professional development (CPD) event in Sydney, hosted by Eyerising.

Registration is Essential

‘Integrating RLRL into contemporary myopia management: Evidence, clinical experience, and case-based decision-making’ will take place on Wednesday 6 May 2026, from 5:30 – 8:30pm (AEST).

The event will take place at The Chatswood, 11 Help Street, Chatswood NSW 2067.

A maximum of two CPD hours will be awarded.

Learning Objectives

Led by optometrist Griffin Ngo and Eyerising Biomedical Engineer and Business Development Manager Di Miao, this interactive CPD session will examine how RLRL may be used alongside other treatment strategies such as atropine, orthokeratology, and myopia-control lenses. The session will combine an evidence-based overview, real-world clinical experience, and practical case discussions from independent optometric practice.

With audience polling, small-group discussion, and case-based learning, the event is designed to deliver practical, clinically relevant insights for optometrists managing childhood myopia in everyday practice.

By attending this CPD event you should be able to:

  1. Assess where repeated RLRL therapy may fit within contemporary myopia management in children,
  2. Identify appropriate patient selection criteria, baseline assessment requirements, and follow-up considerations for RLRL therapy.
  3. Apply case-based clinical reasoning to treatment planning and monitoring in childhood myopia management.

About the Speakers

Griffin Ngo, an independent optometrist at Rhodes Optometry in Sydney, has a strong interest in myopia management and clinical innovation in children’s eye care. He has practical experience using repeated RLRL therapy in clinical practice and integrating it within a broader myopia management framework.

Mr Ngo works closely with children and parents on treatment planning, follow up, and ongoing care, and will share real-world experience, case studies, and practical lessons from implementing RLRL in practice.

Di Miao is a Biomedical Engineer and Business Development Manager at Eyerising International. She supports the growth of RLRL therapy for myopia management by working closely with clinics, distributors, and industry partners across the market. Her role includes clinical education, business development, and supporting the practical integration of RLRL into optometric practice. Ms Miao is particularly interested in helping clinicians understand where RLRL may fit within contemporary myopia management and how it can be implemented in a real-world clinical setting.
