Shamir is actively communicating to consumers about how purpose–designed Driver’s lenses can counter the visual challenges that drivers face on the road.
In an article published online on NRMA’s Open Road, Shamir ambassador, rally driver Harry Bates, set out the five ways that Shamir’s Driver Intelligence technology has proven to be “the best driving lenses in competition but also in his daily life”.1
The five headline benefits he describes are:
- A ‘cheat code’ for driving glasses,
- Supports smoother focus shifts,
- Helps cut down on sun glare,
- Reduces glare at night, and
- Keeps drivers focused.
Bates said the wider visual field delivered by Shamir’s Driver Intelligence technology enables faster information processing, offering a “massive benefit when rally driving… one of the toughest forms of motorsports”.
I find that at the end of a long journey, I’m just less fatigued… That’s really the big takeaway from having spent six months now with these lenses
On night driving, he said that as well as dramatically reducing glare experienced from lights at night, Shamir’s Night Driving lenses also reduce low-light noise and improve low-light sharpness and contrast. He said wearing Night Driving lenses while rally driving makes it “easier to adjust” to different light conditions and “the various distractions that are out there”.
By reducing glare and eye strain, Bates said, “I find that at the end of a long journey, I’m just less fatigued… That’s really the big takeaway from having spent six months now with these lenses”.
