Implantation of the accommodating dual optic Visiogen Synchrony IOL from Abbott Medical Optics in 37 patients who were followed for almost six years has shown long term results of stability of refraction. They also displayed a range of vision for distance, intermediate and near which was maintained throughout the study period.
“The dual optic concept offers the potential for greater and more consistent, long-lasting accommodative amplitude. Ultrasound biomicroscopy and iTrace testing gave objective evidence of accommodation movements in the study,” said Dr. Ivan L. Ossma-Gomez, at a meeting in Hungary recently.
