In addition to its proven range of Stellaris anterior, posterior combined, and laser machines, Bausch and Lomb now also has a range of selective dyes to help visualise the anterior capsule (Dye200), the vitreous (Dye300), and a combined stain for visualising the epiretinal membrane and the internal limiting membrane (Dye500).
Unlike other synthetic dyes, B+L’s BLutein dyes contain naturally sourced lutein. This may help protect the retina during surgery by absorbing blue light,1,2 acting as an antioxidant to neutralise free radicals that may be harmful to the retina,3,4,5 and by reducing iatrogenic stress to the retina, allowing faster recovery after surgery.6
