LASERSIGHT Australia introduces SmartSight NOVA

LASERSIGHT Australia, part of the SMS Healthcare network, has launched SmartSight NOVA, a next-generation, flap-free minimally invasive corneal procedure that sets a new benchmark for precision and personalisation in laser vision correction.

SmartSight NOVA is the first procedure of its kind in Australia, combining Schwind Atos laser with CenTrax eye-tracking technology, enabling a truly customised treatment.

This enables laser vision correction to be tailored precisely to each patient’s unique eye – adapting dynamically to the eye shape, movement and visual demands.

“With SmartSight NOVA, we’re introducing a major step forward in laser eye surgery – one that’s designed entirely around the individual,” said Dr Patrick Versace, a cataract and refractive surgeon at LASERSIGHT Australia.

“By integrating real-time eye tracking with advanced laser precision, we can now offer patients a safer, gentler, and more accurate alternative tailored to their eyes alone”.

Australian-first Approach

Unlike traditional laser eye procedures, SmartSight NOVA’s flap-free technique minimises tissue disruption, supporting faster recovery and reducing the potential for dry eye. The system’s sophisticated eye-tracking technology ensures the laser aligns perfectly with each patient’s eye movements for impressive accuracy.

The procedure takes only ten minutes per eye and is available at LASERSIGHT clinics in Sydney. It will be rolled out in Melbourne week commencing 15 December.
