Dame Judi Dench in MDFA's video 'Never lose sight'.
Esteemed British actor Dame Judi Dench is featured in a powerful video tribute to the macular disease community, released by the Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA).
The video was aired as part of MDFA’s 25th anniversary celebrations, at the Ita Buttrose Oration, delivered by Founding Director Dr Paul Beaumont AM, and held at the NSW State Library last week.
The video features several people with macular disease – including Dame Judi – highlighting the impact that sight loss and treatment has had on their lives.
Ninety-one-year-old Dame Judi revealed a diagnosis of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in 2012. Towards the end of her career, she said she could no longer read or see on set.
