Bausch + Lomb has launched EyeGility – a preloaded intraocular lens (IOL) delivery system – in Australia.
Launching initially with preloaded enVista Aspire IOLs, EyeGility is designed for use with other enVista IOLs, with additional preloaded products planned to follow in coming months, according to Bausch + Lomb.
Bausch + Lomb said EyeGility combines the optical performance of enVista IOLs with the convenience of a purpose-built preloaded delivery system.
Developed with input from surgeons globally, EyeGility “supports a confident and consistent implantation experience while complementing existing surgical techniques and workflows”, the company said in a statement.
Bausch + Lomb said EyeGility combines the optical performance of enVista IOLs with the convenience of a purpose-built preloaded delivery system.
The EyeGility Inserter incorporates a large viscoport diameter for easier visco cannula insertion, a soft and flexible IOL shuttle for simplified assembly, one-handed operation, balanced push force for smooth IOL delivery, a silicone soft-tipped plunger for controlled implantation through a 2.0 mm incision, and up to 20 minutes of standby time from preparation to lens delivery.1,2 Bausch + Lomb said that together, these design features support intuitive handling, ease of use, and greater flexibility throughout the surgical workflow.
The company said feedback from Australian surgeons already using EyeGility has been positive, particularly around the system’s ease of use and smooth delivery.
